Today I am in exceptionally happy mood. I just got my hands on images for the making of the Dior Addict bag. There's nothing more I love than to share with you behind the scene images of how luxury handbags are made.
As I mentioned in a previous post, the Addict is Dior's new baby and is quickly becoming the latest IT bag. However, minus the IT bag status, the bag is just plain beautiful. The minimalist structure combined with the colour combinations (the bag, top handles and the charms are different colours) give a classic bag an extremely modern twist.
Here are a few simple yet extremely relevant facts that you didn't know about the Addict. Its unique shape, i.e. the way the leather folds on the side was inspired by the cuff on the sleeve from the Arizona coat first shown in 1948. Historical references just add so much character and charm to a bag. The handle tabs, which are usually of a contrasting colour and different textures (exotic skin) are actually inserted directly into the bag making it flat as opposed to bulky. The DIOR charms are more rounded in this model and come in three different colours, fuchsia, pink or green make the bag very now. Honestly, one look at this bag and it's hard not to fall head over heels in love with it.
Please enjoy some of the photos from the making of the bag and click here to watch the video. This just made my day. YAAAY!
