Some Thigh Baring Wrap Around Pants

In my previous post, I talked about this really cool new label I discovered, called The Revival Project. So when I was sourcing for Couture Week outfits, my first option was the checkered pant suit I featured a few days ago. However, when I was in talks with Chichouse.co, we weren't sure about the sizes so they asked me to pick something else as a backup so I chose another jacket and these black Kanchipuram silk wraparound pants. When the clothes came to me and I tired these super fun pants, I immediately decided I was wearing those for Rahul Mishra's show. What got me hooked on them apart from the comfort factor (it was like i was wearing nothing, literally!) was how because you sort of tie them up from the front and the back, when you move around, the pants automatically form a high slit on each side. Slits have a way of making you feel sexy because they flaunt just the right amount of skin without looking vulgar. If you liked my look, you can shop it now on Chichouse.co.

Currently Trending: Anya Hindmarch Georgiana Stickers Printed Leather Clutch

The last few days have had me spending a lot of time on my favourite online shopping sites. Why you ask? Well, lets see, I give birth in about 22 days and I spend sleepless nights freaking out about the whole labour process! Online window shopping offers some sort of respite. Who doesn't love being in fantasy land filled with gorgeous handbags?!!

Anyways, as I was browsing LuisaViaRoma, I came across the coolest Anya Hindmarch piece. This quirky Georgiana Stickers clutch. The first thing that came to mind was my sticker album when I was a little girl! In white leather, with a burst of colours from the luxurious, leather stickers and a suede lining, I have a feeling this is going to be seen on every IT girl's arm come fashion week. This new creation comes as a result of a collaboration between Charlotte Stockdale of Chaos Fashion. You can go on to the website and order whatever you like from the super fun, interactive sticker shop. My favourites were the egg, the wink and the band aids. Use them to personalise your bag, phone or even your notebook. They even have letters so you can spell out your name if you want too. I love both, the clutch and the stickers! Hubby are you reading this?

Net-a-Porter Sale - Grab Em Whilst They're Hot!!

There are so many reasons to rejoice at this time of the year; amazing weather, cheerful holiday spirit, the end of the year and of course, the end of season sales. For me, it's a time to shop for accessories/jewellery and bags that I wouldn't ever pay full retail price for. Here are a few things I've got my eye on from the net-a-porter sale!

 1. Dolce & Gabbana Bianca Sandals - Forget Cinderella's glass shoes, these Dolce & Gabbana shoes are what you need! Featuring a block heel covered in leather and shiny crystals, you've got yourself the perfect pair of dancing shoes. Click here to purchase.

2. Etro + V&A Clip Earrings - If you've been waiting for earrings from the limited edition/online exclusive V&A collection to celebrate the Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014 exhibition now's your chance! These super pretty Etro earrings with lots of mini gold tone hoops and baby blue stones are so chic and can work from day to night. Click here to purchase.

3. Maison Martin Margiela Sunglasses Necklace - Trust Maison Martin Margiela to create such a cool accessory. The second I saw it, I was in love. It's so quirky and it would be a crime not to own it! Wear it with a strapless silhouette or over a crisp, white shirt for maximum impact. Click here to purchase.

4. Stella McCartney Beckett Holographic Tote - As much as I love Stella's designs, (bags and clothes) , I still can't justify paying full price for her bags since they're all faux leather. I think it's great she's doing the whole anti animal skin thing, but I feel her bag should be priced a little lower. Anyways, the Beckett shoulder bags have been spotted around town quite a bit, but I really like the holographic version of this model and more so because it's a tote. Imagine walking around town that changes colour. How fun right? Click here to purchase.

5. Shourouk Wimbledee Swarovski Crystal-Embellished Stretch Terry Wristband - Don't you think this one of the most playful takes on the tennis wristband? What a fun combination of sporty glam and hello, look at the price!! For 134 USD, I would buy this in every colour! Click here to purchase.

Top Six Must Have Backpacks - Bringing Sexy Back!

Whoever said backpacks are for school going kids can now easily take a hike! As you may have witnessed from street style photos, these babies are now equally essential to those who aren't in school anymore. Okay so I'm not talking about Chanel's 3,400 USD canvas graffiti backpack that was seen on every bigwig blogger, model and pretty much most of the fashion flock. For this fall, these bags come in various price ranges, materials and funky designs. Furthermore, as I gear up for motherhood (10 weeks to go!!) I constantly find myself worrying about how I'm going to manage a stroller, baby bag and my own handbag whilst staying fabulous at the same time. Enter backpacks! I can safely say, I now have the most trendy solution to my "getting around town with a new born" problems. I can hold the bag on both my shoulders, or casually sling it on one arm - whatever the case, here are some of the coolest rucksacks you need to invest in.

1. Alexander Wang Dumbo Textured Leather Backpack - I've always been a fan of the brand's Rocco handbag with the studded base and now to see the same on a backpack. It's like I'm smitten all over again. I absolutely adore the textured leather and the colour, well, we all know how much I love blue. Click here to purchase or check with Le Mill India for availability.

2.  Saint Laurent Paris Backpack - Whilst this may be from the label's men's collection, I didn't see any reason why girls cant wear it too. I like the black and white take on the classic leopard print along with how lightweight it is. Made from nylon with splashes of leather here and there and of course a price tag of only 895 USD, this bag is too good to give up! Click here to check it out or check at your local Kitsch boutique for availability.

3. Karl Lagerfeld K Kuilted Leather Backpack - King of narcissism, Karl Lagerfeld's quilted bag features numerous Ks (I did mention he's a narcissist) on the quilting along with a squarish shape made from soft leather. The flap closure over the drawstring ensures all your essentials are safe and I really like how the black is contrasted with a colourful interior. Although, it could do without the hefty price tag. My suggestion, as cool as the bag is, is to buy it on sale. Click here to purchase.

4. Perrin Paris Flap Backpack - Ever since I discovered Perrin Paris, I have been a huge fan. Their glove clutches are to die for! Anyways, this bag is another hit from the brand. The chocolate brown leather is soft but not slouchy and if you're a winged bag fan then the two side pockets will bode well for you. Not to mention a little extra storage space for convenience never really hurts. I also like the old school buckle used as a closure. Aren't you a fan already? Click here to purchase.

5. Elizabeth & James Cynnie Sling Leather Tassel Backpack - Don't you just love it when there's more than one way to wear a bag? I know I do! I love how you can hold it on your shoulder as a bucket bag (they're so HOT right now) or simply take the detachable strap off and use it at as a rucksack if you change your mood. The khaki green leather is perfect for the winter and the fringed tassel is so playful. Finally, at INR 37,000 you really can't go wrong. Click here to purchase.

6. Jerome Dreyfuss Leopard Print Calf Hair Backpack - This baby is just so chic with it's luxurious calf hair, the suede and chain shoulder strap and sexy leopard print. The bag features a drawstring closure and black canvas lining. Furthermore, it comes with it's own flashlight so you never need to use your iPhone light anymore! I love clever bag accessories (like the Bulgari bag raincoat that came with the bag). Oh and the shoulder straps are detachable so you can change the way you wear the bag too. Yay, more than one way to wear it! Isn't it such a cool bag? Click here to purchase.

Currently Trending: Winter Blues

One of the strongest colours seen on the fall runways (especially New York and London) was blue. From cobalt to navy to baby - for this winter, be sure to incorporate varying shades of blue in your closet! Apart from the fact that the colour is trending, there's just something about blue that has some sort of a calming effect don't you think? Kind of reminds of the Mediterranean ocean and makes me want to go on a beach vacation! Anyways, here are some of this season's must haves.

1. Zara Long Double Breasted Handmade Coat - Masculine/oversized coats are so hot for this winter, and if it's handmade, even better! Pair it with skinny pants and some funky trainers to look bang on trend. Check it out at your local Zara boutique.

2. Nike Internationalist Suede & Nylon Sneakers - As I get bigger and bigger in my pregnancy, my eyes are immediately drawn to funky trainers. In varying shades of blue and a dash of pink, these pretty trainers are not limited to the gym. Skirts, cropped leather pants or a mini dress; these shoes are versatile and cool enough to be paired with a lot outfits. Click here to purchase.

3. Popinjay Baracoa Zip Clutch - Entirely handmade, this clutch features silk thread embroidery (that takes 72 hours to complete) in a pattern inspired by Art Nouveau tiles. Not to mention, all products sold on Indelust are ethically sourced and manufactured. Click here to purchase.

4. Moschino Quilted Denim Hat - Hop on the logomania express with this Jeremy Scott for Moschino hat. Bold, flashy and trendy, this hat is one of the coolest accessory of the season. Click here to purchase.

5. Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag - I've been obsessed with these Mansur Gavriel bags and am really trying hard to get my hands on one! Isn't this blue version just to die for? Unfortunately it is out of stock, but the good news is the website will be restocking them in December. Click here to stay informed about availability.

6. Illesteva Leonard Round Framed Glasses - Don't these sunnies have the funkiest shape? I love how the frame is made from black acetate and the bold blue lenses really ensure you stand out. Oh and it's made in Italy. A really unique pair! Click here to purchase.

Brands To Know - Mansur Gavriel

I've been wanting to talk about this super cool brand for a few months now, but somehow it just kept getting side lined with the reviews and the travelling and the god knows what! Anyways, Mansur Gavriel is a hip, new, New York city based label founded by two friends, Rachel Mansur & Floriana Gavriel who design handbags that are currently the biggest rage amongst the fashion flock. Everyone from Karlie Kloss to Sussie Bubble to Eva Chen have been spotted with a Mansur Gavriel.

The bags come in three main shapes - tote, bucket and backpack and are pretty much sold out everywhere especially the bucket bags. The silhouettes are relatively simple and minimalist with a teeny tiny logo in gold. The black models come with the contrast coloured interiors and are so just so beautiful to look at. What I also love is the price factor. It's very rare to find a bag made from superior quality Italian leather and made in Italy that too to have such an affordable price tag. No, it doesn't have to set you back over one lac rupees. Try a range of 40,000 - 80,000 INR depending on the model.

Bags that are made in Italy, highly coveted and affordable; it's a no brainer why these babies are sold out! Oh by the way, there's a stunning white bucket bag still available on net-a-porter. That was just an FYI :) I've put myself on the wishlist for the red one and am really keeping my fingers crossed!

Bag Review: Salvatore Ferragamo FW 14 Handbags - Thank God For Reinventions

Please don't mind me saying this, but for the longest time, if there was one brand I would avoid checking out for handbags it was Salvatore Ferragamo. I always felt they were just either too mature or plain bland. Also, seeing a million of those bows around Delhi gave me a bit of an eye sore so I stopped entering the store all together. I remember the last time I was madly in love with a Ferragamo bag it was the Faberge egg shaped clutch. Now that was really cool and so were those astrakhan boots. After that it was a bit of a downer. At least when it came to handbags. However, things seem to be looking up this Fall. As I was checking out their Fall handbags, I have to say, I am impressed with Massimilano Giornetti's new designs for the brand. Here are the two bags that I really like.

Micole Leather Bag

Take the Micole Leather Messenger Bag (also seen on the runway) for example. The detailing and clever use of hardware has got me quite excited. The exaggerated signature Gancio hardware has been so coolly placed on the leather flap closure. So when you open the bag, the flap is in the shape of the Gancio. Fun right? The optional shoulder strap means you can wear it has a messenger bag or take it off and hold it as a clutch. I love bags that can be so easily switched from day to night. Click here to check out the bag or pop over to their boutique at DLF Emporio. It is also available is gorgeous calf hair on their website.

Foldover Tote

Foldover used as a clutch

The second bag from the Fall I have taken a liking to is the foldover tote. The Gancio has been used as a top handle which inserts into a rectangular shaped gold hardware to close the bag. More than anything, I like the minimalist shape. It's extremely understated and very slick. Also, if you look closely, the edges on top are slightly turned up which add to the detailing. Despite being a square, the bottom is rounded giving it a soft as opposed to a rigid look. Finally, the cherry on top is the whole foldover thing it has going on. Use it as a day bag, or fold the buttery soft leather to carry as an oversized clutch. Personally, I would rather use this as a clutch. Despite the leather coating on the handle, I really can't use bags without shoulder straps anymore. And carrying it at the nook of my arm isn't even an option. Plus it looks really edgy as a clutch. Click here to get a closer look at the bag.

Currently Trending: Clutches With A Bit Of A Funny Bone!

In the last few months, I've seen myself evolve with my fashion sense. For the longest time, I was the classic chic kind of girl. You know, the usual silk blouse with skinny jeans or pencil skirt, paired with a classic handbag. But off late, I've become a little bored of that, I constantly find the need to think outside the box when it comes to dressing up for an event. Of course that doesn't mean I only worry about the clothes I wear. It also means looking for some cool accessories, especially handbags. Whilst I love all my clutches dearly, I've discovered some super cool and funny clutches that I would like to share with you. Inspired by pop art, American comic books or fairy tales, the following clutches are real conversation starters and a very playful addition to your bag closet.

1. Charlotte Olympia Archie Comic Embroidered Crepe De Chine Clutch - I have always been a big fan of the designer's embroidered crepe de chine clutches and when she looks towards 1950's American comics for inspiration even more so! If you're an Archie comics lover, then this clutch is a must have. This one has Archie & Veronica both embroidered on to it. Click on the link for more images. Unfortunately, it isn't available on net-a-porter to ship to India, but you can order it to UAE if you have friends or family there. Plus it's only 5 per cent duty to order it to Dubai so you also save some money! Click here to purchase.

2. Yazbukey Pamela Belle Patent Nailpolish Clutch - Ever since I discovered Yaz Bukey jewellery last year due to Paris street style photos, I have adored her quirky designs. From her model legs and Anna Wintour necklaces to her Karl Lagerfeld brooch, the designer is always up to something funky every season (this fall is about mysterious Turkish Delights). The whimsical giant nail polish clutch featured above needs to be the focal point of your outfit. Featuring a gold tone logo plate and a patent leather back side, this is an instant head turner. Click here to purchase.

3. Anya Hindmarch Coco Pops Imperial Ayers Clutch - Alright, so this whole Anya Hindmarch X Kellog's cereal collection; you either hate it or love it. I'll be honest with you, I think it's really cool. Tongue in cheek kellog's cereal motifs on ayers snakeskin; What's there not to love? For me it has to be this coco pops clutch since I pretty much eat it everyday! Make sure you pair it with a simple outfit so the clutch pops. Click here to purchase.

4. Red Valentino Snow White Printed Red Leather Maxi Clutch - Ah, good old Snow White. Growing up, Disney's Snow White was one of my favourite cartoons and also the inspiration for Red Valentino's FW 14 collection. Fairy tale meets fashion, the ultimate fun combo (only if done right, else it can look pretty stupid). I love the patent leather applique on the headband, apple and lips. Gives it a bet of a texture. I would however, stick to the clutch as opposed to the tote as I don't want it to become too overwhelming. Click here to purchase.

I Heart Summer Sales

As you all know by now, I'm a pretty regular online shopper and have shopped from pretty much every well known e-commerce portal there is. Anyways, as always, the summer sales have started and I have started my hunt for something fabulous. My current already ordered items include this gorgeous Alexander McQueen Small Padlock Tote in snakeskin (what a fabulous deal I got on that one from the McQueen website), a pair of Kenneth Jay Lane earrings and a Moschino bracelet. I'm still not done looking for some great discounts online. Here are my top picks in handbags (as always)from the current sales.

Everyday Bags

If you've been looking for an everyday bag that won't hurt your budget too much but is stylish, durable and luxurious at the same time, then these three bags are just right for you.

1. Rochas East West Bi-Colour Tote - For a few seasons now, I have seen various colours of this Rochas tote and am still wondering why I haven't bought it yet. I love the simplicity of this model and the colour blocking. The attached leather pouch, the beige leather lining and the fact that it's made in Italy make this bag very luxurious. The best part is, the price. At 37,540 Rupees, I don't think you'll find a better investment. Click here to purchase.

2. Alexander Wang Rocco Leather Bag - Another one of my favourite bags (and a celebrity darling too) is this Alexander Wang bag especially in this minty green colour. How perfect for the summer right?! The best part about this bag is the very cool studded base. However, for a bag made in China I never felt like paying full retail for it. But if it's on sale for under 50,000 Rupees, I think it's worth every penny! The bag is repeated almost every season in various colours so it will last you a while. Click here to purchase.

3. Tod's D-Cube Small Soft Leather Tote - Tod's D-Cube series has been quite the rage this Spring. I love how the brand has totally revamped their style. I used to always think Tod's bags were quite the aunty type bags but with their Spring bags, they've completely changed my impression. This cute duffel bag is very functional and packs plenty despite its small size. It comes with minimal hardware which is perfect because the bag isn't too heavy and of course the optional shoulder strap. I've always had trouble finding the perfect bag when I'm on vacation because all my bags are so big. This one is just right. It will fit all my essentials without overwhelming me! A real must have. Click here to purchase.

Fun Clutches

Most of you know by now that I am quite the classics gal. Most of my bags and clutches are usually classic models. However, off late, I've started stepping out of my comfort zone and experimenting a little more with fun accessories. It's good to dedicate a part of your closet to accessories that are playful and eye-catching. Here are three clutches I'm currently crushing on.

1. Dolce & Gabbana Floral Brocade Cross-Body Bag - This Italian duo's prints just never tire us. Lemons, ancient pillars or the almond blossoms as seen on this clutch; I just love their prints every season. This particular round bag is just so cute. I love the luxurious brocade fabric and the gold metal chain. You can wear it with a casual outfit during the day or with your dancing shoes on at night and be hands free both times. And for 29,120 I couldn't think of a better deal! Click here to purchase.

2. Charlotte Olympia Juke Box Patent Leather Clutch - Queen of quirk Charlotte Olympia gets it right season after season. Her accessories are just so fun! I love this Archie comic inspired juke box clutch in patent leather. It's an instant conversation starter don't you think? Although it's a little flat so don't try and stuff too much inside it. Click here to purchase.

3. Burberry Polka Dot Leather & Canvas Clutch - I never thought a polka dotted clutch could have such a high impact until I saw this monochrome one from Burberry. Totally loving it. Click here to purchase.

Exotic Skin

I always feel that if you want to buy exotic skin bags, it's best to wait for the sales. Most of the bags end up going on discount unless of course they're the classic models like a Chanel 2.55, Hermes bags or the Celine amongst others. As mentioned above, I got a really good deal on my McQueen tote and there are some great discounts on various e-commerce portals. These two are the ones I really liked. Also, what I've noticed is that the best deals on exotic skin bags are from upcoming designers.

1. Sophie Hulme Spear Tab Python Cross-Body Bag - This Sophie Hulme bag features colourful python skin with 24 Carat gold plated hardware. Talk about luxury all over! The cool colours are definitely attention seeking and I'm really liking its super boxy shape. Plus the price for this exotic skinned baby is to die for. INR 40,410. Talk about fabulous. A word of caution, this bag may have shipping restrictions so either order it to a friend within the EU/UK or speak to someone online at MatchesFashion.com to assist you further.

2. Gucci Ostrich Cross-Body Satchel - Okay so I know this one isn't really a "budget" designer bag, but if you were to splurge once a year, I suggest it be on this Gucci. This beautiful ostrich skin bag in tan leather with gorgeous horsebit hardware is bound to be with you for many years to come because of the brand's impeccable craftsmanship and I speak from experience. If I hadn't already splurged, I would definitely be buying this bag right now. Click here to purchase.

Currently Trending: Statement Earrings

What I love about this spring's biggest hair trends (braids, messy updo's, slick ponytails) is that most of them consist of pulling your hair back and revealing your ears. I love nothing more than to tie my hair up and put on a pair of statement earrings on a night out or even for a luncheon. Be it a pair of large crystal hoops or an edgy ear cuff, or even a pair of chandeliers, this summer, don't be afraid of experimenting with bold earrings. Here's what I'm eyeing.

1. Dolce & Gabbana X Victoria & Albert Limited Edition Earrings - These limited edition earrings, specially created for the V& A museum's Glamour of Italian Fashion exhibit are just to die for. I've always loved the duo's Italian inspiration on their clothes and accessories and these earrings are no exception. The macramé lace, the cabochons and a figure of a lady embossed on the gold; it would be a crime not to add them to your accessory closet! I can totally imagine myself on a Sicilian holiday in a summery floral dress, hair tied up in a messy bun with these earrings dangling happily in my ear. Ah, picture perfect. Click here to purchase.

2. Valliyan By Nitya Bubbly Flower Earrings - Whilst I'm a big fan of Nitya Arora's large statement accessories, sometimes you need a few pairs of earrings that have an everyday appeal like these pretty flower drops. The size is perfect. Not too big that you cant wear it during the day and not too small that they go unnoticed. I also adore the contrasting colours and materials used; lilac semi-precious stones set against black crystals. Click here to purchase.

3. Maithili Kabre Crystal Hoops With Chains - This upcoming jewellery designer's appeal is not only her amazing designs using crystals but also a very accessible price point. My BFF ordered five pairs after I posted an interview with her on the blog. I have these hoops in purple crystals without the chains and just a few days ago I bought this pair too. I wore them to see the husband at the studio the same day and all the boys noticed and complimented me on them (mind you, the husband had no clue I had them on, but husbands are bit funny that way!). The shiny two-tone crystals are set in brass and the chains are so playful. For INR 3500, I think it's a steal. Contact the designer on +919819451906.

4. Viktor & Rolf Safety-Pin Earring - When I saw the SS 14 collection last year, I just couldn't get over the safety-pin detailing. They were seen in the form on necklaces on the runway, ear cuffs and as zip fasteners on the clutches. So funky! This tongue in cheek earring in an instant conversation starter. Wear it in a single ear or buy another one to wear in both ears; whatever the case, it will surely turn heads anywhere you go. Click here to purchase.

Currently Trending: Minimalist Totes - Getting Down To Business

When you're out and about running errands, going to work, or live out of a suitcase (like I do) you don't have time for fussy handbags that come with all that drama. You want a bag that fits the jet set go lifestyle. I like my bags streamlined, fuss free, NOT heavy but super stylish at the same time. It's all about the minimalist handbags in classic shapes that are devoid of too much hardware and are of course LOGO FREE. Here are my top picks:

designer+handbags+india

1. Balenciaga Padlock Nude Work XS With Snakeskin Top Handles - This bag screams Mister Wang with its stark minimal design. However, it was the snake-skin top handle that totally stole my heart. It adds just the right amount of luxury to it which is great if you don't want to spend oodles on bag made entirely out of exotic skin. The size is perfect for the day or the night. I've put this one on my wish list on mytheresa.com hoping it will go on sale in the summer as the price tag is a tad bit steep. Click here to purchase.

2. Jil Sander J Large Leather Tote - Whistle Whistle, Tom & Jerry style!! Check out this slick baby from the house that defines the term minimalism. I am loving the shape of this bag. A little sporty (kind of like a duffle bag) and a little futuristic, this is an undeniably sophisticated tote. Six slit pockets make it easier to organise all your tid bits so you're not left fumbling whilst looking for your belongings. The beige leather lining means luxury inside and out and the minimal hardware ensures that the bag isn't too heavy to carry. Finally, the cherry on top is the price. It costs just about one lac rupees which in my opinion is amazing. Click here to purchase.

3. Fendi 3Jours Leather Tote - All right people, make space in your bag closet for the coolest revamp of the season! Karl Lagerfeld has updated the super popular Fendi 2Jours tote making it bigger and with wings. The bag has an open top with a snap button closure and because of its structured frame, it doesn't slouch. Also, the shoulder straps are longer on the 3Jours making it easier to carry on your shoulders. Perfect for a busy day with lots of running around. The metallic silver is in line with the SS 14 trends (metallic colours are HUGE this season) and it has this funky space age vibe to it. In addition, the protective feet means you can put it on the floor without having to worry about getting the leather dirty. Overall, one of the nicest updates I've seen this season. Click here to purchase or Check Fendi at DLF Emporio for availability.

4. Tod's D-Cube Small Leather Tote - I've always been a big fan of Tod's shoes and now their ready to wear stuff, but their handbags never rubbed on to me until I saw this one. I am totally loving the D-Cube bag with its boxy shape, roomy interior combined with the soft and smooth leather. And the colours, ah the colours it comes in especially this stunning blue. If you've been looking for that perfect day/travel bag, this is the one. Click here to purchase or check Tod's at DLF Emporio check for availability.

Currently Trending: Anarkali With A Jacket

When my cousin got married in January, my mother and I were as usual running around like headless chickens looking for outfits for me. Naturally, since it's my first cousin, just the thought of repeating an outfit was enough to make my mother pounce on be like a big cat. So NO, repeating wasn't an option. We went through every designer boutique in Delhi and simple couldn't find anything. It always happens you know, whenever you're out to buy something fabulous, there's just nothing nice.

About two days before I was due to fly out to Mumbai for the wedding, we randomly decided to pop over to Ogaan at Hauz Khas village. Thanks to their amazing visual merchandising, (they had Anamika Khanna stuff displayed at the entrance so loyalists like us would be lured) we immediately ran inside. There they were, these lovely Anamika suits, which honestly are just so hard to find in Delhi. It's like they fly off the shelves within a matter of days. Anyways, so her latest thing was these amazing jackets with silver embroidery all over the front worn over a simple silk kurta or her floral anarkalis. I tried it on and lucky for me it fit like a glove, therefore no alterations required! We bought it :)

anamika+khanna+jacket
The jacket

I also tried another sky blue crushed silk kurta with an embellished jacket over it. There were no bottoms with that one so you could pair it with anything. And it was only 30,000 rupees (pretty cheap for an Anamika). I'm still cursing myself for not buying that one! I went back two weeks later to buy it for my in-laws' wedding anniversary but it was sold out.

What I love about the layering in these suits is that you can wear the embellished jackets separately and incorporate it in Western wear. I tried mine on over a white shirt and dark cigarette pants resulting in a pretty funky indo-western fusion look. Also, if you have a day function to attend. you can wear the anarkali sans jacket and you're good to go.

I eventually ended up wearing the floral suit on it its own for the in-laws' anniversary and it looked so pretty. I paired it with coral wedges from New Look and a bi-colour Victoria Beckham clutch (click here to purchase the clutch in another colour). Because it was a formal affair, I added big diamond chandeliers from Nothandas to glam it up a bit. It was the perfect choice for a winter luncheon.

With the husband. Wore the outfit without the jacket

It's not only Anamika who is doing these suits with jackets, a lot of other designers have some fabulous designs too. I checked out Pernia's Pop Up Shop and shortlisted a few to share with you. Here are my top picks.

anarkali+jacket+pernias+pop+up+shop

Currently Trending: The White Shirt

A white shirt has always been a wardrobe staple for me. It's one of the most versatile pieces a girl can own. You can pair it with literally anything from your closet and dress it down or up depending on the occasion. There have been times when I didn't have the time to get changed from a busy day to head out at night, so all I did was continue to wear my white shirt and blue skinny jeans, put on a pair of orange pumps, big earrings, rolled up my sleeves and stacked a bunch of bracelets, grabbed a fun clutch and I was all set for a night out. Oh, I forgot to add, I put on a deep burgundy colour on my lips as well. The result was fabulous. For a day time look, pair it with a skirt and bejewelled flats or whatever you may be comfortable with and once again, good to go.

The classic white shirt has been reinvented over the years and just gets more fashionable as the seasons go by. Currently, I have been obsessed with the white stuff that Alexander Wang has been creating. especially this cropped white shirt for SS 14.

Here are my top picks in the coolest white shirts. Mind you, its really hard to make a product page with a white back ground and white shirts all over it so instead of just putting product images I've used the pictures with the models so its easier to see!

1. Joseph Jin Two - Tone Cotton Poplin Shirt - I love the black trim on this one, adds a slight edge to a simple white shirt. The sleeves also have the black trim. Click here to purchase.

2. MCQ by Alexander McQueen Racer-Back Stretch Cotton Poplin Top - I chose this white shirt because of the super cool racer-back. Very relaxed and informal when worn on its own, yet you can transition it into a slightly formal look by pairing it with a blazer. Click here to purchase.

3. Alexander Wang Cropped Men's Shirt - Off late, Wang is turning into a bit of an obsession of mine. His SS 14 collection was mind blowing. Every look, especially that Parental Advisory sweatshirt had the fashion fraternity going crazy. Apart from that, generally, the silhouettes were very off duty and somewhat reminded me of the whole naughty school girl look. A very posh naughty school girl! I featured this particular shirt because of the raw edges. Also isn't it cute how the buttons have been stitched with X es on them?! There's a very fun attitude that comes with this cropped, frayed hem shirt. It says Wang's girl isn't so serious when it comes to fashion. She finds perfection in imperfection. Click here to check it out. This shirt cannot be delivered to India, but if you have any friends in the US you can order it there or contact Le Mill to inquire if they will be stocking it.

4. House Of Holland Embroidered-Dove Cotton Shirt - This runway shirt from House Of Holland is perfectly in line with the current boxy trend. Simple, clean cut, slightly cropped with a religious symbol embroidered on it, the shirt can be paired with almost anything from your closet. Click here to purchase.

5. Zara Poplin Flared Blouse - There's something that's very Alexander Wang or Phoebe Philo ish about this shirt. I'm not sure if it's just me who feels that. I love the loose silhouette on it and the way it flares out. Click here to check it out or go to Zara at Select City Walk mall to try it on.

You know I thought it would be fun to feature some hair accessories for V-day this time. Whilst jewellery, bags and lingerie make the ideal gifts, its fun to add an element of quirk every now and then.

1. Karl Lagerfeld Wool-Felt Fedora - Who says a girl doesn't like a good pink-ish fedora as a V-day gift? Not every girl likes handbags you know. There's something so sexy about a woman who can pull off a fedora. This one is so cute with the grosgrain ribbon on it. Click here to purchase.

2. Piers Atkinson Love Headband - I love milliner Piers Atkins' creations, they're always so fun and eccentric, especially the iconic cherries and even an aubergine for this season. 2. Stella McCartney Falabella Crystal Embellished Faux Leather Clutch - The designer's signature Falabella design comes in the form a clutch with a girl's favourite things embellished on it; lips, hearts, matchsticks and earrings. Lingerie

Whether you wear it for yourself or for a romp in the sack with your partner, a valentine's day is incomplete without sexy lingerie!

1. La Perla Noche De Viento Silk-Crepe Chemise & Thong - I swear by La Perla for fancy lingerie. I bought some of their stuff for my wedding and its just so amazing. I love the way fabric feels on my skin. And their designs, so delicate. Their Noche De Viento collection is inspired by Spanish flamenco dancers and features the most exquisite details. On the traje de flamenco, you'll often see polka dots which comes in the form of tulle on this chemise. There are also appliqued fans on the baby doll inspired by those used by the dancers. I feel like a sexy dancer already! Click here to purchase.

2. Agent Provocateur Novah Neon Lace-Trimmed Stretch-Silk Satin Robe - AP is another one of my favourite luxury lingerie brands. Their robes just fall on your body so sensually (I speak from experience). This robe in particular had me sold with the yellow appliqued lace detailing on it. Pair it with a seductive bra and underwear set (leave it open or tie it to give a glimpse of cleavage) or the matching chemise. Click here to purchase.

Why I'm LOVING Le Mill India! (Pardon me for not having discovered it sooner)

We Indians are big fans of luxury designers and love nothing more than to put on our best outfits paired with fabulous accessories and head out to socialise. However, at some point, due the lack of variety with International brands things started getting a little saturated here. It was only the usual Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel that we would end up seeing on people and quite frankly it tires the eyes out. Not to say I don’t adore these brands, in fact, I am a loyal Gucci fan and Chanel, well if you’ve been reading my previous posts, you’ll know that I am currently saving for another 2.55 bag. But beyond a certain point, you want to see other fun brands in the fashion circuit, like an Alexander Wang Pelican bag or maybe a super fun Jason Wu clutch.

I recently heard about a Mumbai based multi-designer boutique, Le Mill. Yes I know you’re probably like raising an eye brow, thinking ‘WHAT, you JUST heard about it??’ Hey, better late than never right? This new, albeit a late discovery has got me extremely excited. They also have an e-commerce site to make their goods available all over India, which is fantastic since I live in Delhi. I went through every product on their website to check out their merchandise and I have to say I am so impressed. I wanted to see how competitive their prices were as it just makes my life easier if I can buy these brands in India itself, so I decided to compare the prices that they are selling their stuff at with international e-commerce sites.

The Le Mill boutique in Mumbai
First up in my comparison list was the Proenza Schouler PS1 leather Ipad case on the Le Mill site which retails at INR 37000. A similar leather Ipad case on net-a-porter was working out to be INR 46,415 and that’s if I choose to deliver it to Dubai. For some reason when I clicked ship to India the ipad case wouldn’t show up. Ordering it to India anyways would be more expensive as duties are higher. So for a similar ipad clutch which differs only very slightly in dimensions (on Le Mill it’s 11x8.5 and net-a-porter its 11x9), surprisingly, it’s cheaper in India! Granted that colourful Ipad cases are last season as they recently went on sale everywhere, however, I checked the Barney’s sale price and it was 24,000 INR not inclusive of shipping and duties which pretty much works out to be the same price eventually.
Next up was the Alexander Wang IT bag, the Rocco. The Rocco Black Dumbo retails with Le Mill for INR 50,450 and when I checked the retail price on the Alexander Wang website (I made sure I checked the dimensions and all) the price was INR 56,983 and this doesn’t include the US city taxes if you were to buy it there itself or duties if you were to order it online from an e-commerce site. I had featured an orange Rocco that was on sale on My Theresa for a previous post where the sale price was INR 37952 again, not inclusive of duties or shipping.

Moving on, my next item was the Peter Pilotto Abbey top. It retails at Le Mill for INR 67,650 and for INR 68,256 at net-a-porter which is pretty much the same price as the net-a-porter price is inclusive of duties. However, at least when you order it from Le Mill, and the top doesn’t fit you get the ‘free returns in India’ option which honestly is very important. My mom ordered a pair of Salvatore Ferragamo shoes from Saks Fifth Avenue which didn’t fit very well and for her to send it back meant losing out on roughly 200 dollars!

After careful research on these items (there were more I researched on but I wont bore you with my in depth analysis), I am now more excited than ever to start shopping from this fabulous boutique and their online site. And other than the prices, the list of designers they stock is amazing! Isabel Marant (yes, they have the absolutely MUST HAVE Bekett sneakers), and even Shourouk!! Funnily I just spoke about Shourouk in a previous post and I find out the brand is available on home turf. The Row, Pamela Love and even Alexander Wang’s diffusion line T by Alexander Wang; Le Mill is now a part of my internet explorer favourites.

Seriously I want to hit myself on the head because I was in Mumbai last week and I never went to the boutique! It’s all good, when I spend two months there during April and May, I know exactly where I’ll be lingering.

Online Shopping Tips From International E-Commerce Sites For Shopaholics Living In India

As Christmas sales are just around the corner, I thought I should  pass on a few tips on online shopping tips from my favourite international e-commerce sites for those living in India. As you all may have seen by now, I am a huge online shopper. There are a whole bunch of fabulous e-commerce sites out there and I have experienced shopping with almost all of them. The best part about online shopping from these websites is that it gives you access to the most amazing products at your fingertips. You never know what delights you may stumble upon when you enter an online boutique. Also, sale times are the best times to order you end up saving a decent amount of money.

Now the issue with ordering goods to India from international sites is that the duties kill you. I remember once I calculated the duties from Saks, it was roughly about 20 to 25 per cent. I cant recall the exact number. But the benefit is that you can order all these gorgeous things which might not be available back home. Despite having many international brands available in our country, there are still many many more that aren't available, therefore online shopping is the way to go. So if you have really liked lets say a bag, what you can do to get a rough idea of the price differences is choose a bag from any international e-commerce site that is available in India. So hypothetically a Bottega bag. Call the boutique in Delhi to see if its available and at what price. If the price online and in the boutique are roughly the same then it's time to start shopping! And if whatever you liked is at 50 per cent off, that's just the cherry on top!

Every one of these sites deliver internationally, so you can have something so fabulous minus the whole "I'll buy it when I go to London or the US". So I suggest that you register at Saks Fifth Avenue, Net-A-PorterMyTheresa, Matches Fashion just so that you can be informed when they have their big sales. Also there are always promotional offers like for example Saks sometimes has express shipping for 10 to 20 dollars, net-a-porter does free shipping from time to time so its really good to take advantage of these times and shop because shipping to India on a normal day is usually pricey. For example MyTheresa charges around 69 Euros to ship to our country however currently they have a free shipping offer.

My final tip my fellow Dilliwalls who are reading this is that if you have friends or family in Dubai, it's really simple to order stuff there and duty is about 5-7 percent. So you get everything you want and more and so close to home if not home. If I didn't partially live here myself, I would be ordering stuff non-stop to either my massi, mama or sis in law!

With that being said, hope this Christmas brings in every new bag/shoe/necklace/wallet you've been lusting after. Also if you ever need help in one of your online shopping sprees in terms of duties this that, don't hesitate to contact me on hanadimerchant@hotmail.com. I am always happy to help.

Happy Shopping!!

XOXO
